CITATION:
(UNCONFIRMED - Citation Needed): Floyd S. Rogers, United States Army, is reported to have been awarded the Silver Star under the below-listed General Orders for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 2d Infantry Division on 11 June 1944 in France.

He was with the Rangers and operated as a sniper using a Browning automatic rifle, and he was credited with killing 27 Germans. He mailed his Silver Star to his mother on July 12th, the day he was killed.
