CITATION:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Corporal Dalmer B. Tucker (ASN: 38059943), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Battery C, 33d Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, during World War II.
While his battalion was being attacked by enemy planes, Corporal Tucker, despite heavy strafing and shelling and the constant danger of exploding ammunition in burning vehicles on either side, remained at his gun and directed heavy and accurate fire at these attacking planes.
