DSC: (Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: Corporal Vicente R. Barbosa, United States Army Air Forces, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in action against a hostile force while serving with the 303d Airdrome Squadron, 308th Bombardment Wing, FIFTH Air Force. Corporal Barbosa distinguished himself by intrepid actions on 20 May 1944 in New Guinea. The personal courage and zealous devotion to duty displayed by Corporal Barbosa on this occasion have upheld the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.
