Charles H. Hollingsworth On 30 December 1941, then-Sergeant Charles H. Hollingsworth was serving with Battery E, 60th Coast Artillery Regiment (Anti-Aircraft). On that day, SGT Hollingsworth’s unit was in action against Japanese forces in the Philippine Islands. SGT Hollingsworth’s courageous actions and extraordinary heroism that day earned him the U.S. Army's second highest award for valor, the Distinguished Service Cross.
