Biography:

Sergeant First Class Miller was a member of the 223rd Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on 19 June 1952.

Miller was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.

Sergeant First Class Miller was awarded the Silver Star (posthumously) in a ceremony where his mother received it, as reported in the newspaper Carlsbad Current-Argus dated Friday 30 Jan 1953.
