Billy Bruce Bull was born on 25 July 1949.

On 24 July 1970, Private First Class Billy Bruce Bull was serving with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division in Long Khanh Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Bull was killed in action by small arms fire while in a night defensive position that was attacked by a hostile force. His body was recovered.

He received a posthumous promotion to Corporal.
