Donald William Brown was born on 8 October 1947.

On 23 August 1968, Private First Class Donald William Brown was serving with C Battery, 6th Battalion, 15th Artillery, 23rd Artillery Group, II Field Force in Tay Ninh Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, PFC Brown was killed in action by artillery, rocket or mortar fire. His body was recovered. Brown was posthumously promoted to Corporal.
