On 23 July 1968, Sergeant First Class Harry Lewis Boyle was serving in Detachment A-242 (Dak Pek), B Company, 4th Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group in Kontum Province, South Vietnam.
On that day, Sergeant First Class Boyle was killed by friendly fire. His body was recovered.
