CITATION:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Paul H. Anderson (ASN: 2810466), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company G, 360th Infantry Regiment, 90th Division, A.E.F., near Le Grand Carre Farm, France, 1 November 1918.
After being severely wounded early in the combat, Private Anderson went on two missions for his battalion commander which necessitated his passing through heavy machine-gun fire, not mentioning the fact that he had been wounded.

On 23 April 1919 awarded the French Croix de Guerre with gilt star.
