CITATION:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Thomas M. Colley, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company A, 308th Infantry Regiment, 77th Division, A.E.F., near Stonne, France, 6 November 1918.
Though wounded, Lieutenant Colley voluntarily went through shell fire and gave first aid to the wounded members of his platoon, thereby receiving additional wounds.
