CITATION:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Graviel Garcia (ASN: 2229509), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company C, 325th Infantry Regiment, 82d Division, A.E.F., near St. Juvin, France, October 16. 1918.
Private Garcia voluntarily went out into No Man's Land under heavy enemy fire and administered first aid to a wounded comrade. While making his way back to our lines with the wounded man he was himself severely wounded.
