CITATION:
The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Sergeant Frank B. Loescher (ASN: 2230212), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company K, 360th Infantry Regiment, 90th Division, A.E.F., at Le Grand Carre Farm, France, 1 November 1918.
Although wounded in the arm early in the attack, Sergeant Loescher continued to lead his platoon in the attack on a strong enemy position, and by the use of rifles, rifle grenades, and hand grenades, and after capturing several machine-gun nests, including one dugout containing 70 Germans, forced the entire strong point to yield, including two German companies armed with machine guns, which had been holding up the advance of the whole company.

On 14 April 1919 awarded the Italian Croce di Guerra.
