Davis Smith Davis Smith was born in 1808. He was actively involved in the Black Hawk wars both as Adjutant and as a Colonel. He was later commissioned as a Brigadier General by Michigan's first Governor, Stevens T. Mason. In 1838 Smith was elected as a Representative to the Michigan State Legislature from Lenawee County. Death and Burial Brigadier Davis Smith died in 1869. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater, MI. |
