Albert Cowper Smith was born on 5 June 1894.

During World War II, he was the Commanding General of the 37th Armored Regiment; Commanding Officer of Combat Command A, 14th Armored Division; Commanding General, 14th Armored Division; and Commanding General of the 30th Infantry Division.

Death and Burial

Major General Albert Cowper Smith died on 24 January 1974 of kidney failure at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was 79 years old. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
