William Oldham William Oldham was born on 17 June 1753 in Virginia. Oldham served as a Captain in the Virginia Militia, participating in the battles of Brandywine and Monmouth. He later commanded Kentucky Militia in Ohio against Indian settlements. He was killed in the battle called St. Clair's Defeat in which 890 enlisted men and 16 officers were killed or wounded. Honors Oldham County in Kentucky is named after him. Death and Burial William Oldham was killed in action on 4 November 1791 in Ohio. He is buried at the Oldham Family Cemetery in Louisville, KY. |
