William Harrington Leahy William Harrington Leahy was born on 28 October 1904 in Colusa, CA, the son of Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy, U.S. Navy. Leahy graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1927, was commissioned as an Ensign, and served in the U.S. Navy East Coast Fleet. He served in World War II and, after the war, served as Captain of the Shipyard Command, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, VA, from June 1953 to June 1960. He retired from active service as a Rear Admiral on 1 June 1961. Death and Burial Rear Admiral William Harrington Leahy died on 12 May 1986. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. |
