Arthur Forbis was born in 1746.

Forbis was a marksman who shot one of the first British officers from 150 yards away at Guilford Courthouse. He was wounded in the same battle and died several days later.

Death and Burial

Colonel Arthur Forbis was killed in action in April 1781 in Guilford, NC. He is buried at the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park in Greensboro, NC.
