William Christian William Christian was born in 1743 in Virginia. Christina commanded a company in William Byrd's regiment during the French and Indian War (1754-63). He led a regiment during Virginia Royal Governor Lord Dunmore's war and served in the Virginia militia during the Revolutionary War. Christian studied law in the office of Patrick Henry and married Henry's sister, Ann. He served in both Virginia legislative houses. He was killed while battling an Indian raiding party near Jeffersonville, IN. Colonel William Christian was killed in action on 9 April 1786 in Clark County, IN. He is buried at the Bullitt Family Cemetery in Louisville, KY. |
