Oscar Littleton Chapman
Hospital Apprentice 1, U.S. Navy

Oscar Littleton Chapman was born on 22 October 1896 in Omega, VA. He attended the University of Denver, where he earned his LL.D. at Westminster Law School, and the University of New Mexico.

From 1918 to 1920, Chapman served as a Hospital Apprentice 1 in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps.

Chapman was a Presidential Cabinet Secretary and served as the Secretary of the Interior during the last three years of the Truman administration, from 1949 to 1953.

Death and Burial

Oscar Littleton Chapman died on 8 February 1978. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
