Norman Wayne Partridge was born on 12 December 1944 in El Dorado, KS. He was the son and eldest child of Jack Lee and Alma Daphine May Partridge.

He married Jeanette Ritchie and they had two daughters.

Military Service

"Cobb," as he was called, was a Warrant Officer in the U. S. Army. On 16 September 1968 he was serving as a helicopter pilot in the 68th Assault Helicopter Company, 145th Aviation Battalion, at Bien Hoa Air Base in the Republic of Viet Nam. While departing the Landing Zone, his helicopter was hit by enemy fire and crashed. He was killed in the crash. Cobb's tour began on 30 August 1968 and he had only been 'in country' for 17 days at the time of his death.

Warrant Officer Norman Wayne Partridge was killed in action on 16 September 1968. He is buried at Towanda Cemetery in Towanda, Butler County, KS.

He was survived by his wife, Jeanette, and two daughters.
