James Rodrick McDaniels
Military Service James was a U.S. Navy sailor who was one of the crew members of the destroyer USS Cole (DDG-67). James was one of the seventeen American sailors that were killed; 39 more were injured, in the terrorist attack on the Cole on 12 October 2000 while at port in Yemen. This event was the deadliest attack against a United States Naval vessel since 1987 and the terrorist organization al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the attack. Medals and Awards Purple Heart Death and Burial ITSA James Rodrick McDaniels was killed in a terrorist attack on 12 October 2000. He is buried at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk, Norfolk City, VA. |
