Joseph Gabriel Harner Boatswain's Mate Second Class Joseph Gabriel Harner (19 February 1889 - 5 March 1958) was a U.S. Navy sailor who received the U.S. military's highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor, for his heroic actions during the Occupation of Veracruz. Joseph Gabriel Harner was born in Louisville, OH. Medal of Honor Rank and organization: Boatswain's Mate Second Class, U.S. Navy Citation: On board the U.S.S. Florida, for extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession during the seizure of Vera Cruz, Mexico, 21 April 1914. Death and Burial Boatswain's Mate Second Class Joseph Gabriel Harner died 5 March 1958. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, in Section 17, Lot 21199-B-2. |
